New Meadowlands Stadium Selected to Host Super Bowl XLVIII
Phightins replied to Teletopez's topic in NFL Football
People are going to watch no matter where it is played. Non-football fans, of all people, care the least where the game is played. If they are tuning in for the commercials or half time show, I doubt they care what the wind conditions are, or how difficult a time the quarterback is having throwing the ball, etc. -
Paul Hoover surprisingly cleared waivers, which is a huge deal IMO (as I mentioned before). Also, mark your calendars. Roy Halladay vs. Josh Johnson on Saturday.
-
Jesus, Brian Boucher recovered quickly. He will probably be backing up Leighton for this series.

And if we get another New Jersey winter in 2014 anything like last year's, it's probably 50/50 as to if there will be 20 inches of snow on the ground or if it will be 75 and sunny. -
Here is to hoping we don't face another knuckleballer this year...

It is about time a northern non-dome/retractable roof gets a Super Bowl. -
Well, I wouldn't say the NHL playoffs are "more marketable" than the NBA playoffs because in this country there are way more NBA fans and their postseason will always have higher ratings regardless. However, I agree that the NHL postseason is by far the best in sports, and I think most people who are fans of both the NBA and NHL agree.

Would have loved to have been there....I live on a budget, though.
-
Apparently I need to get out more, but HHH is registered on 2 sports forums and doesn't even like sports! But really, keep trolling jagov.....I DON'T CARE TONIGHT! EASTERN CONFERENCE MOTHER[expletive]IN CHAMPIONS!!! WOOO!!!
-
Never have been prouder to be a Flyers fan. What a [expletive]ing run.
-
[expletive] YES!!!!
-
I am going to read every review possible and then re-watch the finale. Actually, I plan on watching the entire series again this summer if I can.
-
Brian Schneider activated from DL and Paul Hoover designated for assignment. Kind of sucks because I am guessing he won't clear waivers since there are a bunch of teams in the market for a backup catcher. The Phillies have absolutely no catching depth so losing him will kind of suck.
-
Well, the Flyers may be the "dirtiest team in the league", but at least they are only [expletive] holes on the ice, and they don't have all around pieces of [expletive] like Scott Gomez on the roster. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/flyers/20100524_Canadiens_sharpen_stories_about_Flyers__skate_issues.html#axzz0os6xRaAA As for tonight, same lineup as game 4. Dan Carcillo will sit again.
-
Well, he's been as good as he's needed to be. I don't think he's been tested that much yet, but he has made the saves he's needed to make which is all that can be asked of him.
-
That might be the most interesting matchup of the series (well, I don't want to talk about it as if it's a sure thing, if we get a win tonight I will). Leighton has been getting a good look at almost everything this series and I don't think the Blackhawks would make it quite as easy.
-
^^I don't think there is a top pairing in the league that can compare with Keith/Seabrook (even a toothless Keith). However, the Flyers' top 4 has been pretty [expletive]ing solid this postseason.
-
You should have kept watching! A decent part of season 6 was dedicated to that very issue.
-
I watch as many games as I can...in fact, I've pointed that out on here but I wouldn't have expected you to notice. You just keep hanging onto your vision of me being some guy who knows nothing besides the Flyers and thinks the NHL is "against us" or whatever. I mean, feel free to keep hanging onto that if you want, whatever makes you feel better. But really you're right, I'm just some idiot who only wishes I could be as well versed in the ways of hockey as you are. So please, if you are ever giving any talks in this area let me know, I'd love it if you shared some of your knowledge.
-
Yeah you're right. We are not worthy. You are from Canada and you get the NHL Network so who am I to question you? (For the record, NHL Network is also available in most parts of the USA). If you are ever feeling generous and decide to share some of your hockey knowledge with the rest of the world, let us know, I'd love to take a class or something.
