Universe is just making things up now to make himself look better. Whatever, not worth arguing with people like you. Whenever you're ready to hop down from the high horse, perhaps we can talk.
-
Hamels-Pelfrey has potential.
-
Fully expecting that finale to get killed by critics, but I thought it was beautiful. Wouldn't be a Lost finale without loose ends, but I thought it was great. I am mostly sad that the greatest 6 year television run of my lifetime is now over.
-
I guess OTR is made up of a bunch of weak personalities then, since everyone I have asked says you annoy the hell out of them.
-
Yo HipHopHead, you a [expletive]ing annoying troll?
-
Nevermind, looks like RA Dickey is pitching for the Mets on Tuesday. I guess they saw how much success the Phillies had against a knuckleballer today...
-
I wonder if Carcillo gets scratched again tomorrow or if that was a one-time thing. His knee has been kind of hurt since the Boston series and I think that's probably the main reason he got scratched yesterday. We will see.
-
They can never beat any AL teams. Even against [expletive]ty pitching they ALWAYS go into a slump when interleague play rolls around. Also, funny that you deny you are a troll, but you get right to work trolling again. But yeah, the Phillies were swept by the Blue Jays and Orioles last year, I guess they are better teams? Was that "not surprising" too?
-
And the offense has entered it's annual "interleague slump". Of course, scoring 0 runs combined with Roy Halladay's once-per-4 months bad start is not a good combination. Anyway, matchups for Phillies/Mets series.... Tuesday: Jamie Moyer @ Raul Valdes Wednesday: Joe Blanton @ Hisanori Takahashi Thursday: Cole Hamels @ Mike Pelfrey

Posting opinions of a fanbase? Yeah, the way you do it is trolling chief. And it has gotten many posters banned. If I were to go into a Lakers thread and say "all Laker fans are frontrunners!" and get suspended for it, I don't think "oh I'm not trolling, just stating my opinion!" would fly.

1. You are debating sports, clearly you care about them. And if you didn't, why would you register on a "SPORTS" forum? There are plenty of different types of message boards out there. Stop throwing BS statements out there to save face, it isn't working. 2. When your first post reads "You are an idiot, no wonder you are a Philadelphia fan", you are trolling. 3. The Marlins have very good scouts but not much more. That hardly makes them a "superior franchise" to anybody. They are run well given what they have. Anyway, this can be continued elsewhere. 4. Hypocrisy? Show me where I attacked another fanbase. I have not thrown the first stone in any of these debates.
-
You keep saying you don't care about professional sports, yet you are a registered member on at least two message boards that specialize in discussion about professional sports. And, I struggle to seriously acknowledge posts that do nothing but trash me and my fanbase. At least bring something constructive to the table. Even though I disagree with Universe on just about everything, I am willing to let our quarrel go because we are both big hockey fans and it seems like we only have these arguments when our teams are playing in the postseason. You on the other hand are a bigger troll than a guy who has been banned twice from here already (Diesel). And really, "I wasn't serious LOL". Are you kidding me? So, you deliberately post like an idiot so you can just say "I wasn't serious" to save face? And, the Phillies/Marlins debate is neither here nor there (although I struggle to see how a team that draws 1.5 million fans in a good year, has next to no money to spend, trades most of their talent away as soon as they reach arbitration, and has made the postseason a grand total of two times is a "better franchise" than anybody, but again, that's an argument for a different forum). But if you call someone an idiot and attempt to talk [expletive] about a fan base, what kind of response are you expecting, exactly?
-
And who the hell are you to judge, HHH? Aren't you the guy who tried arguing about Crosby/Ovechkin on CTS while clearly pulling facts out of your [expletive] and even admitting that you don't watch any hockey? Yeah, so keep those "idiot" judgements to yourself. And until your baseball team starts drawing more than 300 people per game, you aren't exactly in a position to be trashing another fan base.
-
Coming from the guy who trashes fanbases for being "too passionate". Classy.
-
Ok, so we can now add "prick" to the list of adjectives that describe Universe. Really, I hope you realize how obnoxious you are. "I am from Canada, so even if something I say is ridiculous, I won't allow somebody to point it out because I OBVIOUSLY am more intelligent by default". Come on.
-
You see, if I'd have actually called you an idiot or homer, your sarcastic statement would probably be effective. I am just calling you arrogant.
-
And the award for most arrogant poster on OTR goes to....
-
Well, it's good to see that you have fresh material, considering that I have not used the "NHL against the Flyers" thing in a long-[expletive] time (in fact I am on exactly the opposite side of that fence now and Flyers fans who use that, especially when talking about the Penguins, annoy the hell out of me), yet that's one of three recycled arguments you always turn to. I think I dropped that line on you over 2 years ago, the last time the Flyers and Canadiens played in the postseason, yet you can't seem to let go of that. It's either that or "Flyers are the dirtiest team in the league so you can't talk", or "I am from Canada so clearly I know more hockey than you so don't argue with me". Seriously, get a new act.
-
You sound ridiculous. Aren't Canadiens fans the ones who notoriously boo the American anthem, despite having more American players than most American teams?
-
Precisely. Gracias.

I don't think Berkman technically asked for a trade. He was chatting with a reporter and basically said "hypothetically, if I was the GM I would look to trade the guys like myself, Roy Oswalt, Carlos Lee, etc. and bring back as much young talent as possible". But of course the media took his words way out of context. Morgan Ensberg actually wrote a really good blog post about this, and about how the media does a great job misconstruing what players are actually saying (another FYI, if any of you haven't checked out Morgan Ensberg's blog, it is really really good and I recommend you check it out).

With the exception of game 2, I don't think Leighton has been spectacular. He has just been making the saves he needs to make and the Flyers defense has been dominating.
-
From what I am hearing, the Red Sox fans at the game were acting even more entitled than usual (no offense ECN), so I am quite happy that it didn't happen.
