I have a man crush on Leonard Weaver.

Apparently there was something going on between Eric Lindros and Rod Brind'Amour's girl back in the day, and some people say that's why Rod was traded to Carolina. But if this deal with Carter is true and it gets out, well, it's unfortunate for Tiger Woods that nobody in America cares about hockey because this would be huge.

Yep. -
I still don't get why he hasn't been called up. He is tearing up the AHL, the Flyers can't find the back of the net if their lives depended on it, seems like the easiest first thing to try, right? And compared to the other [expletive] going on with this team his issues seem small haha.
-
Also, Riley Cote and Danny Briere are going through divorces. Coincidence? And there are tons of coke heads all around the league. Lupul and Upshall were big time into that. Also I don't think there's been confirmation that Carter is being shopped, but if the Flyers are to make a "big shakeup" he'd be the only one who makes sense contract-wise. Like I said in the Flyers thread, I hope these guys aren't too excited about the Winter Classic, because by the time that rolls around in a week and a half this roster will most likely look a lot different. And they all hit the bottle way more than they should, but I think that is an NHL-wide issue not really just a Flyers issue.

I think the Mets will have to overpay big time to get him. I do not know any right handed hitter who would want to go there.

Our old friend "Diesel" will be at this game. Because of the snow storm he will probably be one of like 5 people there (that isn't much of an exaggeration). No Iverson. Lou is back but coming off the bench. Willie still starts (YAY). -
So [expletive]ing gay. I have never seen a team underachieve this much. I hope the players aren't too excited about playing in the Winter Classic because once the trade freeze ends not one of them is safe.

I don't know if AI has anything to do with it. I mean just look at the Cleveland game. The Sixers were right in that until Eddie Jordan decided to put Rodney Carney and Willie Green on the floor at the end of the 4th quarter.
-
Ok....I don't think it's the worst thing when the Sixers lose because at this point I think it's all about the ping pong balls. However, beating the Celtics is [expletive]ing SWEET. Speights and Brand were owning.
-
Hopefully the Sixers can come back here, don't want to lose on that bull[expletive].

This is Milton Bradley's 8th team and he has had problems literally everywhere he has gone. There is a reason a guy with that much talent has been run off of so many teams. I'd say it's a matter of time until something happens in Seattle. But I guess it is a risk worth taking for getting Silva's contract off of their hands. Silva may be one of three or four guys in baseball with a worse contract than Bradley.
-
Yeah I am sure once the shock wears off he'll be fine. I am just used to the days of Curt Schilling and Scott Rolen complaining their way out of town and JD Drew refusing to sign after we drafted him. So it's very strange to hear Roy Halladay say Philadelphia was really the only place he wanted to go, or hear Cliff Lee be disappointed about leaving. It's even weirder for pitchers considering our stadium.
-
Flyers lose in a shoot out on a pretty flukey goal. Pretty lame, Flyers played a good game and deserved better than that. Officiating was absolutely horrible, but I guess that is to be expected when you play the Pittsburgh Penguins.
-
Cliff Lee doesn't sound to happy about going to Seattle. Never thought I'd see the day where pitchers actually want to be in Philadelphia.
-
I heard that Nick Johnson signed, pending a physical. I find that kind of interesting since he will have to DH, and he is one of the best defensive first basemen I have seen in the entire league (possibly the very best).
-
It is unbelievable how many calls the Pittsburgh Penguins get (and Sidney Crosby in particular).
-
I'd bang Scott Hartnell's wife. But on a serious, slightly related note, it looks like Riley Cote might be separating from his wife. I know there are quite a few local girls who get passed around that locker room (including a teacher from where I went to high school) so I am seriously wondering if there is any connection. Wow, I know way too much about this stuff, I am suck a stalker. Also I should add that it sucks a lot. I know Riley Cote is a great dude and his wife is great too apparently. I know they are involved in the community a great deal and they seem like really good people. So I don't mean to sound like an [expletive] if it turns out that this isn't really the case.

He won't be given a guaranteed MLB contract. I heard they were willing to give him a minor league deal with an invite to spring training, but unless somebody gets hurt it doesn't look like he'd have much of a shot at making the team. I think he is done and should retire but apparently he still wants to play, so maybe he will land somewhere.

They have missed out on everybody so far, nothing will make me happier than to see them miss out on Bay too.

Update: Chris Henry dies at 26

That's very sad. -
Orioles are also "kicking the tires" on Matt Holliday apparently, and are interested in Adrian Gonzalez.
-
They literally were back-to-back-to-back. Three consecutive faceoffs.
-
Phillies/Jays/Mariners/A's deal is done.
-
Evidently somebody flunked their physical, which is causing the hold up.
