Too bad the EA NHL series developers don't make all sports games. If they did.....damn! Every game would be sick!

Agreed. NHL 11 will be the greatest sports game ever made.

As for 2K11, I could care less about the dumb Jordan Challenge, My Player mode, and other useless crap like that. I want good gameplay. I was leaning towards Elite 11 for the first time in 6 years, but this preview of 2K11 made me stick with 2K because it sounds like they FINALLY tweaked the gameplay to be more authentic.

As players progress through The Jordan Challenge, they'll see Jordan himself change, in both face and physical characteristics. His (and all players') uniforms will be period-specific - not just in design but in cut and style. Presentation also will change to reflect the era; graphics and audio will resemble games in the 1980s, early 1990s, or late 1990s.

We went out and got the rights to the actual players from each era and spent a ton of time capturing their signature shots, moves, and tendencies.

They went into painstaking detail to include the old-school arena floors and in some instances the actual arenas

Though you can only play as the Bulls in "The Jordan Challenge" all of the teams it features, like current teams, will be playable in the game's Quick Game, Association, Playoffs, and Season mode.

Wow, now that is awesome. I love how much effort they put into getting the detail as precise as possible.

Elite looks way too complex with the new complete control system and the difficult targeting of jumpshots. 2k is upping the way their game is played but it doesn't sound anywhere near as difficult as Elite, but still manages to sound way better.

I'm assuming all of our OTR members will be getting 2k over Elite. :)

Definitely play the demos first too. I just have a feeling the learning curve is going to be way to long for Elite where people who play the demo will be like "wow this is way too complicated, I'm going with 2k."

Plus I'd go with 2k regardless just because I'm used to it. From the way the association mode is set up, to the overall base of the gameplay. It's just comfortable to me so I doubt I'll be switching. Plus, the Jordan Challenge sounds like a lot of fun. :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Yeah until I start droppin buckets in the paint at will and people start [expletive]ing at me and complaining about how the game developers effed up.

2k10 was bad like that until the 3rd patch fixed the game.

Patches actually made the game worse. Before I never had to worry about my big men camping at the 3.

As for the trailer it looks pretty good. People said that 2k10 was the same thing as 2k9 during its first trailer but when we got more information it started to look much, much better.

From the reviews I have read about people who have actually played the rough-draft version of the game, they seemed to have made a lot of improvements from a gameplay standpoint. That's what makes the NBA2K series so great. The graphics also supposedly are better in-game, but some of the improvements to the gameplay are very promising.

I hope they don't focus on all these MJ modes so much that they don't have time for association improvements, sort of like how Madden completely ignored franchise mode this year.

JOHN WALL! He barely moved his body when he did the dance and he wasn't smiling. The graphics don't look any better than 2k10. They're focusing too hard on stupid old school players when we're in the year 2010 rather than making the game better. Still looks good, just saying.

And NHL 11 is gonna be the best sports game ever, without a doubt.

I agree, Except the last sentence. He barely moves his head AT all.

Not sure if anyone has seen these, but a few videos were leaked from a German video game convention. Looks very fluid considering it's an early stage demo. Here's a few random one's I decided to post:
