  1. Oh wow I forgot that the Rangers got Rick Nash for nothing in the summer. Should be a fun year.
  2. Just wear a mic what's the big deal holy shit man who cares if you have a shitty voice I have a shitty voice too. Who cares what you sound like if you're kicking his ass. Give the people what they want!
  3. Apparently 48 games starting the 19th with training camps opening no earlier than this Saturday. Schedule reportedly coming out on Thursday or Friday. The Saturday is probably better. You can run games all day if you want (think NBA Christmas day), and put on rivalry games on all day. Very exciting stuff regardless.
  4. Someone's gotta get a gif of that old guy in the crowd just saying shit after RG3 went down.
  5. Schenn is a guy you will probably love come playoffs. Easy to forget he is only 22, and he has lockdown potential. He might not get a ton of points, but when on his game, he almost always makes that first pass out of the zone right on the tape. He might have the worst shot I've ever seen by a guy his size lol. It will definitely be interesting to see JvR when he is getting 20 minutes a night consistently. We're going to need big things from him moving forward on that contract.
  6. Also pretty good considering the Rockets gave up pretty much nothing (in terms of assets) for him.
  7. Ridiculous it took this long, but the NBA missed 18 games too and barely got anything out of it. Just glad to be back to hockey. I was an optimist throughout and I honestly don't know how I would have handled missing the season, I just never looked at it as a possibility, they were just too close throughout. 50 games is perfect, no time for a Leafs meltdown!
  8. I am honestly shocked how well he has played. He is the player now that I expected him to be a year or two from now. The adjustment to franchise player has been almost seamless for him. Its pretty insane honestly. Top 5 still belongs to the 4 guys Nitro mentioned and Dwight. Dwight still gets the pass for health, and while I have no doubt Wade could still produce at a super high level as a first option, I can't help but doubt it would be at the level Harden is doing it now. Sometimes it seems like Wade is 36 honestly.
  9. Also, to use the olympic/junior teams as the sample for producing best talent is ridiculous. Canada still produces way more quality players than any other country.
  10. Hey, honestly it makes me happy to see the USA do well. For one, I'm not even a huge fan of the juniors and I'm not going to pretend I care about it this year like everyone else just because of the lockout (hello... all these kids have been playing for the past 3 months, don't act like there hasn't been hockey, smh). A small, very small part of me would have been okay with the states winning the Olympics too. Honestly my dream is for hockey to one day be in the same breath as the other 3 sports.
  11. Lol, well if you take (took) him for what he is, he is a really solid player. I guess its kind of like, would you rather have a guy very good at a few things, or just solid at everything? The choice gets easier when the guy good at a few things is good at useful things like defense, 3 point shooting and you have point guards like Lowry and Calderon who can find him for open looks. Ross would look incredibly out of place on a team where he was required to create his own offense. I think he has the capability to be a smarter player too, we see glimpses, but he is still jittery at times, and forces things. He is still clearly uncomfortable in any sort of position beyond a catch and shoot situation. That will come with time though. I still don't see upside in the same way Drummond has, but he isn't some sort of talentless bum. The fact that I don't think he can dribble with his left hand sort of concerns me though, lol. Also, lets take note of how awesome Lowry has been in the 3 games he has been back. Something like 11 points, 7.6 assists, 1 turnover and and over a steal in just 24 minutes a game! He's our best player, and if he continues to play like this, its going to make Casey have to make some difficult decisions.
  12. Glad my parents picked the best game of the year to get me tickets to.
  13. Really thought this would garner a better reaction. Clearly improved one liners isn't my resolution. Thanks to CF though I appreciate that shit, I thrive on the +1's, can't get enough of em.
  14. Pretty sure that team took Tebow to the playoffs. Besides, lets say they really are a 4 win team without AP, they win 6 extra due to him (?). Denver won 5 more games than they did without Peyton last year. "Playoffs" is a bullshit measurement stick... so because Peyton's team is better than excludes him or is used against him? You can make an argument for both, but this is the worst I've seen so far. Going from good to elite should be viewed the same as going from bad to good as far as I am concerned. So no, its no 'that simple'.
  15. I wish Morey never made that Harden deal because that literally negates the countless other shit moves he has made. Such an overrated GM.
  16. I think if I had a vote, I would vote Peyton... honestly, its just too hard not to. AP maybe deserves it more, but I'd vote Peyton. He has the narrative, and its not like he doesn't have MVP stats to back it up. I vote reason for the sole reason that I would feel dirty if I didn't. That's fair right?
  17. This is the team I hoped to see. So reminiscent of that 06 team the way they are moving the ball right now. Also, I'm on the same boat as you, get that owed pick out of the way now. Finishing in the very late lotto is a very good possibility though if Bargnani doesn't play another game for us. Would be so ignorant for BC to put him back out there, for the players on the team, and for the fans.
  18. Key stretch here for us: Orlando Portland Sacramento Oklahoma City Philadelphia Charlotte Milwaukee We need to go 5-2 in that stretch. Playoffs are still a huge longshot (possible understatement), but if we do go 5-2 here (definitely possible) that will bring us to 15-22 on the year, which is pretty respectable considering our start. This is a hugely important stretch right now though, especially since they are all at home besides the Orlando game (which is the most winnable I think). I guess we'll have to see. I hope Lowry plays cool and collected like he did yesterday. That is the player we need going forward.
  19. He is a bad coach. People will be calling for his head after the playoffs.
  20. Alan Anderson is my least favourite Raptor ever. Lowry looked awesome at the times I was able to watch (was in and out all night). I'm glad he responded so well to coming off the bench - they must have told him that this was still his team, he just needs to slow it down, and play his game. He is still our best player (says more about our team than him, unfortunately), and he just needs to let the game come to him. That three he had blocked was just brutal, and is exactly what he was doing right before his injury that had people going bananas. He needs to be attacking, and finding open shooters, not settling for contested threes, especially late in a close game. Side note: nice to see Demar getting some [expletive]ing calls! There's just literally no in between, its either no calls, or 10+ FT attempts, sadly it has been the first one more often. Would love to meet somewhere in the middle refs.
  21. I haven't watched in so long, holy shit I forgot rock was back for this. Definitely going to have to try and find a stream.
  22. Dion Waiters should be thanking him for helping cause people to not look so much at his equally bad season.
  23. Meh, seems this sort of behaviour has only really started occurring in the 2nd half of his career. He used to be awesome honestly, now he's a bitch.
  24. My money is on SVG. Would be an amazing pickup for them. Then again, SVG has a history of being pretty demanding of his stars (Dwight), and Deron wouldn't like that.
