This Melky thing is so overblown IMO. Guy busted for PEDs while in the midst of a "breakout year", so the hacks like Heyman and Morosi are having a field day. As expected. I don't think the PED use is the reason for his success this year, at all.

This is just another example of a former or current Yankees being a scum bag.

He is a douche and he used PEDs. No argument there.

The PEDs are not why he had good numbers this year.

Boston Red Sox OF Carl Crawford to undergo Tommy John surgery

Boston Red Sox outfielder Carl Crawford will have season-ending Tommy John surgery on his left elbow Thursday, the Red Sox announced Monday. Crawford had been playing with a tear in his left elbow's ulnar collateral ligament. His symptoms worsened, and he decided to go through with the surgery after a consultation with Dr. James Andrews.

The Red Sox left fielder struggled last year after signing a seven-year, $142-million contract. He partially tore his elbow ligament in April while rehabbing from wrist surgery that caused him to miss the first 89 games of the season. He returned to the major league team July 16, and hit .282 with three home runs and 19 runs batted in in 31 games.

The Red Sox have only three players — Adrian Gonzalez, Dustin Pedroia and Mike Aviles — who have played more than 94 of the team's 122 games this season. They are 13 1/2 games behind the first-place Yankees in the American League East, and 7 1/2 games back of a wild-card spot.
