Offical 2012 Presidential Election Thread

I agree with this... But Bill O'Reilly isn't that bad. It's people like Limbaugh, or Glenn Beck that scare people (moderates, which makes up a ton of the electorate). -
Long season. Nets have a long way to go, but by March I think they'll get there and be a top 5 seed in the East easily. I won't start trash talking yet.

Dude, you still don't get what I'm saying! Both are motivated to vote. However, there are MORE (population wise) minorities than Southern Rednecks...so of course it's going to swing Obama's direction. And rightfully so. Their policies and talking points do not appeal to minorities. Blacks vote Democratic no matter if Obama is running or John Kerry. -

Wrong again. They are just as motivated to vote...what you're failing to understand is that there are far more minorities than Southern white rednecks. Romney lost Asian-Americans by 50 points. 50 [expletive]ing points. That's pathetic. -
Tony Douglas is the WOAT. Sorry Houston fans.

Lol. Still doesn't counter the trend...that the more education level you have, the more likely you voted Obama. It's ok though. I know minorities are always stupid and obviously have no education, and they won the election for Obama. -

It hasn't been a lack of leadership, they tried to limit what he could do so he wouldn't win a 2nd term. That simple. When he had a Dem. congress, he passed a lot of future legislation such as health reform or wall st reform (whether you agree w/ it or not is fine, but he did a ton in the first two years). As you like to point out, we don't live in a communist country. he can't just decide he's going to do this and that. he has to work with congress, and for good reason. that's what makes this country what it is. two parties are supposed to come together to solve the nation's problems for the people. not just win elections for themselves. smh -

Actually, my point is the people with the highest education level, statistically speaking have gone with the President. He won the postgraduate degree demographic by almost about 16 points. It's the white-working class people like you who been tricked into thinking conservative policies will benefit you. Good luck bro -

Really? Is that why a Harvard Business School poll revealed current students were 65% for President Obama to only 35% for Romney? LOL! And Romney graduated from HBS, and you would think that he would be a model (make a ton of money and be a Presidential Candidate) for many HBS students. Comical #WaitsForRidiculousSkewedResponse -

So as most of you realized I'm sure, I didn't post in this thread at all last night. I was watching the election with my family while after celebrating my 21st birthday. I came back and read this thread and it was pretty hilarious. ECN even mentioned my name, which I was flattered. Lol. I thought the race was going to be closer than it was, but I should've listened to Nate Silver's fivethirtyeight blog. He was accurate once again. 50/50 states predicted correctly, as well as the popular vote being spot on. We'll see what Obama can do with four more years. I'm hopeful Republicans in Congress are willing to work with him now, because this election was a mandate of the country. We need to work together to pass legislation, not just one party vs the other. I'm hopeful this will change because the Republicans won't be thinking about the next election and not letting Obama get a second term, but maybe, just maybe they will put the people first. It was fun discussing politics with all of you this year throughout the campaign. Even ECN, I love debating politics and although you insulted me numerous times, I still enjoyed the debate (when it was actually serious and not name caling). -
This. I can always count on you to have consistent, intelligent and accurate commentary when it comes to basketball man. When you left for that period of time, I really missed your posting. Seriously. I voted for the first option, because to be honest, If I were Knicks GM and someone actually would TAKE Amar'e Stoudemire and his huge contract off my hands, I do it in a heartbeat. But, there's no team out there that's willing to do that. Nitro is right though. I've been saying this for months. Neither Carmelo or Amar'e have been healthy enough for a continuous amount of time to see if they can truly fit together. As well as a deeper team, more size, and much improved PG play, it's impossible to say at this point whether they can co-exist. I know it's not the sexy, blunt answer that people on this site like to give, but it's the truth.
-
My vote is Raymond Felton instead of Jason Kidd for most under the radar acquisition. Everyone thought Felton was some type of bum coming to the Knicks, but he has been the most impressive player so far on this team. He looks tremendous and is in great physical shape.
-
got off to a real shaky start but nice to see us pull it together and get another lopsided victory. going to be interestng to see when the Knicks play a close game at the end who's on the court and how they play in crunch time...

You really think so? How is Romney going to win the electoral college? Just curious as to what your polling model looks like. I already voted for President Obama two weeks ago. He probably will lose NC, but hopefully it won't matter. I think it'll be very close. My prediction using that 270towin.com site... Obama 288 Romney 244 That's pretty damn close when you consider McCain won just, what, like 170 last time? -
Well, that's actually kind of when they were more likely to say how they truly feel about him.
-
Lol, but the unemployment numbers they use are always the same, right? Do they use your model when a Republican is President? Did we not add 5.4 million private sector jobs under President Obama or not? [expletive] outta here
-
Stopped reading here. When the numbers favor Obama, now they are skewed. But if Unemployment came out at a ridiculous rate this past month, you'd be touting his horrific policies. You are a [expletive]ing clown man. I don't know how many times I have to show you basic job growth charts under this administration, but let me re-track and bring it back up. Stop disputing it as propaganda or something too. The numbers are the numbers. That's what every single outlet has reported. How do you dispute this? I don't get it dude.
-
That'd be great, but don't see it. The original time table on Baron Davis last year was in January, and I don't think we saw him until like the first week of March. With an serious injury, they'll be extra cautious. I don't really expect Shumpert back until the beginning of March, or the last week of February at the earliest.
-
Shumpert would make an incredible difference. Even if he only played as well as he did in his Rookie season, he'd still provide such an improvement to this team. If Shump could return in March and really get into form for the post-season, this could be a scary team. Idk if Amar'e is a positive or negative for this team when he eventually comes back. Plays no defense, mediocre rebounder, and I'm not sure if he can even score anymore. But, I won't lie...I'll be excited when he comes back.

Nah, don't bother. I caught the 2nd half and the Sixers looked like they didn't even want to be there.
